Fairview Test Site

Fairview, Oregon was the original location of Blue Road Research and consists of a 1794 square foot building on 1.6 acres and several outdoor test stations. The site is currently used primarily as a field test site to prove equipment. It features concrete and asphalt test pads, a soil test station, and a small scale test bridge.

The test bridge is a 20 foot, single-span, truss structure designed to support the development of civil stucture monitoring system and long gage sensors. The frame is steel and carries both concrete and composite deck panels. It can be used for experiments in real-time health monitoring, damage assessment, and traffic monitoring.

The soil test station is set up for soil moisture measurements and consists of a greenhouse enclosure on a gravel drainbed, with soil boxes for mixing samples in.

The test pads are in place for experiments in roadway monitoring. They contain multiple embedded sensors to serve as a development platform for traffic monitoring systems.
